Raphael Rosenblatt

Raphael Rosenblatt is a seasoned trial lawyer with experience handling complex trials and FINRA arbitrations around the country.

Raphael has successfully represented individual and corporate clients in criminal and regulatory matters and in all stages of complex civil litigation, including depositions, trials, and appeals in state and federal courts. He also has represented clients in intense negotiations and arbitrations.

Before founding Rosenblatt Law PC, Raphael began his career as an Assistant District Attorney in Nassau County, NY, trying to verdict a significant number of jury and nonjury criminal matters. He then moved to private practice in New Jersey where he litigated complex commercial, class action, securities, consumer fraud, insurance, bankruptcy, white collar criminal, and financial services matters in federal courts and state courts around the country. His clients have included some of the largest corporations in the world.

Mr. Rosenblatt has been a member of a District Ethics Committee—a panel appointed by the Supreme Court of New Jersey to investigate allegations of wrongdoing by attorneys. He also has published numerous articles in the New Jersey Law Journal and written extensively on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), honest services fraud, bribery, mail and wire fraud, insider trading, securities fraud, compliance, and securities litigation.

Representative Matters*
  • Represented clients seeking complete forfeiture of legal fee sought by clients’ former counsel as a result of attorneys’ alleged misconduct and violations of disciplinary rules (currently subject to further review and hearing by court). Schreiber v. Friedman.
  • Served as expert witness in defense of the Office of Public Defender seeking a dismissal of legal malpractice case, which was granted by the NJ Supreme Court holding that the NJ Tort Claim Act applied to such cases. Nieves v. Office of the Public Defender.
  • Representing a real estate attorney sued for legal malpractice, secured jury verdict dismissing all claims for alleged misappropriation of trust account funds, affirmed by the Appellate Division in Smith v. Johnson, Appellate Docket No. A-1581-16T1. 
  • Representing client in a legal malpractice action against prior counsel and prior adverse counsel in connection with complex environmental cleanup litigation, secured reversal of summary judgment dismissing certain legal malpractice claims.  Hull v. Collins, et al., Appellate Docket No. A-4357-16T4.
  • Successful defense of medical marijuana patient charged with criminal possession and distribution of marijuana
  • Representation of juveniles charged with all manner of crime in delinquency proceedings
  • Defense of various felony criminal matters, including drug possession and distribution, robbery, theft, weapons possession, sexual offenses, and harassment in both Superior Court and Municipal Court
  • Representation of large internet media company
  • Successful representation of plaintiffs and defendants in complex legal malpractice matters
  • Successfully defended a class action brought against a life insurer for alleged misrepresentations when selling policies insuring children’s lives
  • Successful representation of a broker-dealer in a FINRA arbitration alleging misconduct and misrepresentation
  • Obtained summary judgment dismissal of action against insurer for alleged misrepresentations in the sale and marketing of insurance policies
  • Handled appeals to state and federal courts of appeal, including the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit
  • Successfully prosecuted drunk driving, assault, narcotics, and other criminal matters as an Assistant District Attorney
  • Successfully represented a minor child in an estate litigation matter in order to obtain benefits left to her by her father
  • Obtained asylum for a Sudanese national and her minor daughters seeking to avoid return to Sudan to undergo female genital mutilation
